Black Leaders
Black leaders in Texas, both men and women, have contributed numerous examples of perseverance and triumph. This volume examines the lives of some of those black Texans who, in the words of Frederick Douglass, led the movement to "devise and carry out measures for their own social advancement, and for the general improvement of their condition."
